About the team

Tax Accountant II you will be working with colleagues based in Pune and the UK to help manage the tax affairs of Worldpay outside of the US (OUS).

What you will be doing

  • Support the OUS team to manger the outsourcing of the corporate tax affairs, through the co-ordination of advisors, the sharing of relevant data and preparing responses to tax questions.
  • Management of the internal tax team payment process, working with the treasury team to ensure all on-US tax payments are made on time.
  • Prepare certain national, state and local income tax or withholding tax returns.
  • Maintain correct and proper tax records.
  • Booking tax entries into accounting software and advising the business on the tax bookings to local entity’s books.
  • Prepares, reviews and files various reports for federal, state and local reporting as well as other areas of tax compliance (monthly, quarterly, annually).
  • Preparation of various tax forms, such as tax clearance requests, CbCR notifications, self-certifications (for CRS), CoR requests.
  • Provision of ad hoc tax advice, with the support of the direct tax team.
  • Monthly tax general ledger reconciliation of tax payments and the tax general ledger. Reconciliation of any year-end balances and recover any tax overpayments.
  • Maintains current knowledge of tax laws, updates and revisions and informs management of issues affecting WP, anticipating potential tax filing conflicts.
  • Assist with tax audits, requests for refunds for dual taxation, incorrect assessment and exempt property etc.
  • Monitors internal reporting software database for integrity and maintenance. Investigates and reconciles discrepancies.
  • Other related duties as needed or required.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience. Remain knowledgeable on current tax regulations.
  • Knowledge of India corporate and withholding tax concepts, practices and procedures. A General understanding of global corporate and withholding tax concepts.
  • Good understanding of generally accepted accounting principles as well as company accounting policies, procedures and standards.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbally and in written form in a clear, concise and professional manner.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems using learned techniques and tools.
  • Analytical and statistical examination skills, with attention to detail and accuracy and
  • Ability to understand and apply learned concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and accomplish work to ensure critical deadlines are met.
  • Ability to create spreadsheets and demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and accounting software.
  • Confidentiality and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, clients and public.
