GILAC People Experience Center

People Experience Center is the GILAC HR shared services center of excellence for all of Godrej Industries & associated companies in India. The center has been set up in December 2020, within our HR operating model & works as an extended arm of the Centers of Excellence and HR business partnering teams.

The ‘People Experience Centre’ as we are calling it, is a critical step in our journey to continuously enhance how people experience our employer brand, both within and outside Godrej. One of the key pillars of this transformation, will be leveraging HR technology impact fully to deliver more meaningful people experiences and make sharper people decisions.

YOUR ROLE SPECIFICATIONS

Title: Executive Payroll

Purpose of the job: The India Payroll Processing Specialist is responsible for accurately processing payroll for employees in compliance with company policies and government regulations. This role requires attention to detail, strong numerical skills, and a comprehensive understanding of payroll procedures.

Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in accounting/ Finance/ Business Administration, or related field preferred. 3-5 years of relevant experience and working as a payroll processor. Strong understanding of payroll accounting, regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.

Experience:

• Strong understanding of payroll accounting, regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.

• Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations.

• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.


Role expectation: Process payroll for employees on a regular basis, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. This includes calculating salaries, overtime, bonuses, deductions and full and final settlement of resigned employees etc.

  • Maintain employee payroll data accurately in the payroll system, including new hires, terminations, changes in salary or benefits, and timekeeping records.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legal regulations and tax laws related to salary processing. Prepare and submit payroll taxes and reports accurately and on time.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and issues in a timely manner. Address employee queries regarding payroll matters professionally and promptly.
  • Generate payroll reports as needed for management review, budgeting, and auditing purposes. Provide insights and analysis on payroll data as required.


  • Maintain accurate and organized payroll records and files, ensuring confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
  • Continuously evaluate payroll processes and identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. Implement changes as approved.
