The RoleAs Mainframe Storage Specialist, you are responsible to provide technical support with high degree of Customer Happiness by meeting Service Level Agreements (SLA) and process compliance. Who You AreRequired Technical and Professional ExperienceAdopt the given technology to meet the drift of customer and business requirementsAt least 5 years’ experience in IT industry Mainframe Storage Specialist.

Storage box data migration (DASD to DASD and Tape to tape) and Storage replicationAnalyze and research options for collaborates with exiting external systemsRoot Cause Analysis preparation and meeting Service level agreement for submissionDevelop, document and maintain procedures for system utilities such as backup/restore, performance tuning and configuration of environments as well as incremental backups as requiredInitialize / add new DASD volumes and Add new tape volumes. Perform the space management activities such as VTOC resizing, Defrag, Compress/Reclaim/Release/Cleaning of datasetsManage and Define SMS rules and ACS routines along with reorganization of storage dataset (RMM/HSM CDS & Catalog file)Disaster recovery planning and performing the recovery test (Tape recovery / DASD Replication / Tape Replication) and Managing the Copy services / GDPSProblem determination and resolution within expected time frameAssume personal responsibility for resolving problems in most effective way possible within SLA reaching root cause and preventing problemsLead daily Operations meetings provided there are no P1 incidents runningAid with identifying problem management trendsPreferred Skills and ExperienceExpertise in Storage hardware subsystems including IBM DASD (DS8K), IBM Automated tape library and IBM Virtual tape library (TS7700/TS7720/TS7740/TS7760).Experience in EMC’s storage (VMAX and DLM) and Replication (SRDF) technologies.Problem Solving:Recognize complex problems related to functional objectives. Analyze situations and implement solutions, or develop new system elements, procedures or processes. Creativity and judgment applied to developmental work on different projects within the business environment.Candidate have to work in customer work hours- US, Europe and Asia Pacific (weekends and holidays as oncall staff).
