Position Title: Accounting Analyst
Job Location: Bangalore, KA-India
Job Summary
Performs staff accounting functions and costing analysis to support business processes.
Job Duties
From the outset, incumbent will be expected to be a contributing performer, doing staff level accounting work that supports business processes.
Additionally, this position will:
Gain an understanding of Caterpillar’s business and accounting practices, systems, and procedures. Learn and develop skills which result from the practical application of basic accounting knowledge, and Aid a project team or others in the work group. Accountants will be exposed to a variety of accounting functions and will accomplish a high level of compilation and basic analysis work, reviewing clerical input and generating reports. The accountant identifies relevant data and data sources, gathers, and analyses the information, and provides feedback. Typically, decisions will impact relatively no risk issues and will be reviewed by a supervisor. A supervisor will direct work, but this position does not require close supervision to be effective.Possible areas of responsibility are varied and not restricted to below,
Perform monthly product cost analysis Cost system maintenance – validate costs pulled in the dashboard, ensure validated product costs reports are available for decision support. Prime product and/or component cost monitoring & analysis – Quarterly cost change analysis Identify the root cause for costing griefs, resolve griefs in the system, and ensure calculation of standard/product costs in the system. Enterprise coordination and/or governance of costing activities Standard cost revision supportBackground/Experience
Fresher with an accounting/commerce degree/undergraduate/part qualified accounting professional with 6 months to 2 years of experience. Effective communications skills and a good understanding of computer systems especially in MS-Office and Financial Analytics Tool. Good accounting background, thorough knowledge of cost accounting methodologies, and working knowledge in ERP systems. Must be a team player with effective communication skills and willingness to take initiative.-
