Role & Responsibilities

  • Hands on electrical design experience and good understanding on Electrical systems for a wide range of projects, and work with other engineers, project managers, and construction professionals as needed.
  • Review Data center client requirements and provide technical clarifications and solutions along with the required backup documents.
  • Preparation of Concept design along with load sheet, SLD, Sizing calculation and Power system Analysis on ETAP.
  • Perform Feasibility Studies for identifying new data centers to satisfy business requirements.
  • Handle concurrent MEP projects in co-ordination with internal and external stockholders.
  • Work on Load flow, short circuit, Arc flash Analysis, relay settings on ETAP for all the projects.
  • Detailed designing of Electrical systems – Review of TDS submittals from vendors, Co-ordinated service drawings, External services drawings, floor level service drawings.
  • Preparation of Detailed documents – DBR, Specifications, SOO, System study documents, Sizing documents, CEIG submission documents, DBR for Earthing and Lighting protection.
  • Capacity planning for the Hyper scale data centers.
  • Review the offers and provide clarifications and technical ratings for the Electrical equipment’s.
  • Travel to site to resolve the any co-ordination / client meetings.
  • Design project scope and deliverable list for successful delivery of the project.
  • Work with Local agencies for CEIG / state and municipal requirements and building codes.
  • Having knowledge of data center MEPF infrastructure.
  • Familiar with local design code for Safety and Security, Electrical system design.
  • Working knowledge of building energy management systems.
  • Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and provide the preventive reports to build on the process.
  • Review and understand the project documents and Validation of the technical specification.
  • Ensure best installation practice to the field team, to ensure installation standards and quality are always maintained and improved. Also, Develop and oversee all aspects of installation of Electrical systems.
  • Ensure project expectations are always effectively communicated to the customers and project stakeholders in a clear and concise fashion.
  • Willing to learn, accept opportunity for creative design with strong theoretical knowledge for commercial and industrial projects.
  • Should have quick decision-making capability to overcome a site incident with minimal downtime.
  • Should have good technical and Interpersonal skills, good judgement, clear communication skills, self-driven and ability to help others.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

QUALIFICATION

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor’s degree in an electrical engineering with 10+ years of relevant electrical experience.

- 7+ years of experience with industrial or commercial electrical design.

- 9+ years of experience developing design documentation (plans, specifications, etc.) for construction.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related engineering degrees as well as five (5) years of related experience in professional Environments.

- Detailed knowledge of critical data center electrical equipment (including UPS, diesel generators, electrical switchgear, power distribution units, variable frequency drives and automatic/static transfer switches) and basic understanding of mechanical equipment and system design.

- Proficiency in computer applications such ETAP, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.

- knowledge of building codes and regulations including Life Safety, IBC, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA.

- Proficiency in Auto CAD / Revit.

- Experience of fast-track projects / retrofit projects.

- Strong Understanding on new designs and Technologies for data centre equipment’s and facilities.

- A strong ability to understand complex requirements of data centre customers and clearly communicate / articulate in line with Energy efficiency and sustainability goals.
