Client is a tech-enabled B2B marketplace focused on transforming the Non-Metallurgical, Non-Fuel Minerals sector through innovation, transparency, and digitization. With operations spanning supply chain management, digital procurement, and value-added processing, we are building the future of how refractory and abrasive raw materials are sourced, processed, and delivered.

They are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Plant Head to lead our processing facility and oversee the daily operations of multiple grinding and ball milling lines.

Role Overview

The Plant Head will be responsible for the smooth running and management of 4 grinding lines and 2 ball mills , ensuring operational efficiency, product quality, team productivity, and process safety. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical background , preferably in ceramics or mechanical engineering , with hands-on experience in refractory and abrasive raw materials .

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Production

• Oversee end-to-end operations of grinding and ball milling lines, ensuring optimal productivity and minimal downtime.
• Ensure adherence to production schedules and quality benchmarks.
• Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
• Coordinate with the quality control team to maintain product consistency and meet customer specifications.

People & Team Management

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of operators, shift supervisors, and technicians.
• Foster a safety-first, performance-driven culture within the plant.
• Train new hires and upskill existing staff in best practices and new technologies.

Planning & Execution

• Coordinate raw material intake, in-process handling, and finished goods dispatch with warehouse and logistics teams.
• Work closely with the supply chain and sales teams to align production with demand forecasts.

Equipment & Maintenance

• Monitor machine health and initiate preventive and corrective maintenance in coordination with engineering teams.
• Drive improvements in equipment uptime, efficiency, and throughput.

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure strict adherence to environmental, health, and safety (EHS) norms.
• Oversee documentation, compliance, and audits related to plant operations.

Business & Application Understanding

• Possess strong application knowledge of refractory and abrasive raw materials such as calcined bauxite, brown fused alumina, and other alumina-based products.
• Understand how processed raw materials are used in refractories, ceramics, abrasives, and allied industries , enabling value-based decision-making and customer alignment.

Key Requirements

Experience:

• 10+ years of experience in a minerals, refractory, or abrasives processing facility.
• Proven track record of managing grinding and milling operations.
• Hands-on experience in people management, shift operations, and plant systems.
• Must have Greenfield experience

Skills:

• Strong technical understanding of refractory and abrasive raw materials
• Knowledge of industrial automation, production planning, and ERP systems
• Team leadership, performance management, and interdepartmental coordination
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Clear communication and ability to work in a process-driven, professional setup
