We are looking for an experienced Oracle DBA with 5 – 8 years of expertise to join our team.

You'll be well placed in our dynamic and friendly Development Team.

Situated in the prestigious Silver Utopia Building, Chakala,

Andheri East, Mumbai – , Maharashtra

Overview of the position

You will make significant contributions to the mobile payments industry by bringing engineering excellence in innovating new features and functions in customer centric applications.

Requirements of the position

The incumbent is expected to:

Role specific responsibilities

Database Installation & Configuration:

  • Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle databases (12c/19c and later) in Development, QA, UAT, and Production environments.
  • Configure RAC (Real Application Clusters), ASM (Automatic Storage Management), and clustering for high availability.
  • Manage Oracle listener, network services, and connectivity.

Performance Monitoring & Optimisation:

  • Proactively monitor database health and availability using OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager) and custom monitoring scripts.
  • Perform advanced SQL query tuning, indexing strategies, and optimizer statistics management.
  • Utilize AWR, ASH, ADDM reports for performance diagnostics and tuning.
  • Optimize schema design, partitioning strategies, and storage allocation.

Backup, Recovery & High Availability

  • Design and implement backup and disaster recovery solutions using RMAN, Data Guard, and RAC.
  • Configure and manage standby databases (physical/logical) for DR readiness.
  • Validate backup integrity and conduct regular DR drills.
  • Guarantee RPO/RTO compliance and high availability SLAs.

Data Security & Compliance

  • Implement data encryption (TDE, Data Redaction, Network Encryption) and access control policies.
  • Enforce security standards aligned with PCI-DSS, GDPR, SOX, RBI, and other regulatory guidelines.
  • Manage database auditing, logging, and compliance reporting.

Automation & Scripting

  • Develop shell scripts, PL/SQL scripts, and Ansible/Terraform playbooks to automate recurring DBA tasks.
  • Automate database cloning, user provisioning, backups, and monitoring tasks.
  • Support integration of database operations into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD).

Collaboration with Developers & DevOps Teams

  • Partner with developers to optimize queries, stored procedures, and schema design for high transaction systems.
  • Support database integration in microservices architectures and APIs.
  • Work with DevOps teams to build infrastructure-as-code (IaC) for Oracle DB deployments.

Troubleshooting & Support

  • Serve as L3 escalation point for database-related issues in production.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and document incident resolutions.
  • Provide 24x7 on-call support in a rotational model for critical issues.

Upgrades, Patching & Migration

  • Plan and execute Oracle patching, PSU, CPU, and version upgrades with minimal downtime.
  • Perform cross-platform database migrations (on-prem to OCI/AWS/Azure).
  • Validate application compatibility post-upgrade.
Preferred Skills
  • Exposure to NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra) or Big Data ecosystems (Hadoop, Spark).
  • Prior experience in fintech, banking, or lending domain.
  • Knowledge of GoldenGate or advanced replication solutions.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and containerized database deployments.
  • Certifications (Preferred)

         Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle Certified Master (OCM).

         Cloud certifications (OCI, AWS, or Azure DB Specialist).

Qualifications & experience:
  • Bachelor's / master's degree in engineering (Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related)
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA in mission-critical environments.
  • Strong expertise in Oracle 12c/19c database administration.
  • Strong knowledge of:

RAC, Data Guard, ASM, OEM, RMAN, Data Pump

SQL & PL/SQL development

Performance tuning and troubleshooting (AWR, ASH, ADDM)

Linux/Unix administration and shell scripting

  • Familiarity with cloud-hosted Oracle DB solutions (OCI, AWS RDS, Azure).
  • Knowledge of database security standards & compliance frameworks.
  • Exposure to DevOps practices and tools (Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, Git).
