Job Summary:
We are seeking a Business Analyst to support the development of our consumer lending software, which includes a suite of products such as auto loans, credit cards, mortgages, and HELOCs. In this role, you will collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define workflows, and ensure the product aligns with customer needs, market trends, and compliance requirements. You will act as the critical link between business goals and technical execution, driving the successful delivery of scalable and user-focused lending solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Requirements Gathering and Analysis:
- Engage with internal stakeholders, lenders, and customers to collect and document requirements for consumer lending products.
- Analyze current lending workflows for auto loans, credit cards, mortgages, and HELOCs to identify opportunities for improvement and automation.
- Develop user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria to guide development teams.
Process Design and Documentation:
- Design end-to-end workflows for loan origination, underwriting, servicing, and repayment for consumer lending products.
- Document business requirements, functional specifications, and system integrations.
- Collaborate with UX/UI teams to ensure intuitive user experiences for borrowers and lenders.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work with product managers, engineering teams, and stakeholders to ensure alignment of technical solutions with business objectives.
- Facilitate communication between cross-functional teams to resolve issues, address risks, and ensure timely delivery.
- Provide insights on market trends, customer expectations, and competitive analysis.
Testing and Validation:
- Develop test plans and support quality assurance efforts to validate product functionality against business requirements.
- Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) and collect feedback for product refinements.
- Ensure that lending products meet regulatory and compliance standards.
Regulatory and Compliance Expertise:
- Stay informed on industry regulations affecting consumer lending, such as Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA).
- Ensure all workflows and product features adhere to applicable laws and standards.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in consumer lending or financial technology.
- Strong understanding of consumer lending products such as auto loans, credit cards, mortgages, and HELOCs.
- Experience with lending regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., TILA, FCRA, ECOA).
- Proficiency in business process modeling and documentation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with loan origination systems (LOS), credit scoring models, and underwriting workflows.
- Experience with SaaS-based financial solutions and integrations with third-party systems.
- Knowledge of APIs and data exchange standards for consumer lending products.
- Experience working in agile development environments with tools like Jira or Confluence.
