Position Overview:

Location: Chennai

Position: Lead -Sourcing

Reports To: Technologist - EV Sourcing

Function: EV- Sourcing

What you’ll do:

Supplier Relations : Collaborate with various teams to understand product requirements and parts specifications, identify potential suppliers, and send RFQs based on part designs and bills of materials from the engineering team.

Vendor Liaison : Regularly engage with vendors for sourcing components, evaluate supplier capabilities through DFM discussions, and work with cross-functional teams to reduce part rejection rates.

Order Management: Review order status, ensure adherence to Direct on Line and business plan targets, and calculate target costs for components in collaboration with the Cost Management team.

Supplier Evaluation: Evaluate and propose suppliers in collaboration with the Quality Assurance team, offer technical guidance to meet component reliability and supply chain efficiency, and supervise supplier quality engineers.

Quality Assurance: Resolve quality issues, monitor corrective procedures, ensure completion of the Product Part Approval process with the engineering and quality teams, and manage the handover to the procurement team for material sourcing and production startup.

Motor & Controller- Power Train

Develop PMSM motors, controllers, and transmission systems. Experienced in EV parts sourcing, costing, negotiation, and vendor development. Skilled in cost estimation and understanding motor assembly/technical details. Interpret powertrain diagrams and performance curves. Knowledgeable about EV component suppliers, market trends, and standards. Familiar with PPAP, APQP processes, and proficient in SAP MM & PLM.

What you'll bring

Experience: Proven experience in developing PMSM motors, controllers, and transmission systems (such as belt and chain drives), and EV parts sourcing. Over 10 years of experience in vendor development within the automobile industry (OEMs and ancillary suppliers).

Skills: Strong background in vendor development, costing, negotiation, and price settlement. Expertise in motor and controller cost estimation, PMSM motor assembly, and powertrain engineering is essential.

Attributes: A dynamic individual with excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset.
