Job Description

As a Sales Officer at BasicBrowns, you will be responsible for promoting and selling our range of millet and grocery products within the assigned territory. You will work towards increasing brand visibility (in house promotional activities), enhancing distributor relationships, increasing the product placements across the various zones of the city and achieving sales targets.


Role & responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets through distributor and direct retailer engagement.
  • Identify and cultivate new sales opportunities within the designated territory, including expanding the distributor network & retailers network.
  • Manage and strengthen relationships with existing distributors and key retail partners.
  • Organize and oversee promotional events and product demonstrations to increase product visibility and drive sales. ( in-house promotional activities at retailers)
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to provide valuable feedback to the marketing and product development teams.
  • Maintain accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities, including sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow-up activities within the assigned territory.
  • Educate customers and distributors about the benefits and nutritional values of millets and other products offered by BasicBrowns.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and values during all sales and marketing activities.
  • Achieve sales revenue numbers, budget and profit goals for your assigned areas.
  • Assist in managing monthly/quarterly/annual sales budgets and objectives within your Region.
  • Understand and utilize syndicated data to identify sales opportunities and develop sales presentations for assigned
  • Provide monthly sales reports, monthly expense reports and any assigned reports in a timely
  • Regular contact with retailers and distributors to ensure seamless continuity of efforts
  • Execute the sales volume numbers, trade spending objectives and any other goals given by.
  • Specific interaction with marketing, i.e. Sales Support materials, etc.


Preferred candidate profile

  • Applicant must have minimum 2-5 years sales exp in any reputed F M C G Company.
  • Must have thorough understanding of distribution network, appointing distributors & building retailers network, ROI, product promotion.
  • Should have worked with either of the following product categories in grocery, millets, organic in the past.


Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of proven experience in FMCG sales, particularly in the grocery or health food sector.
  • Strong understanding of sales dynamics and customer relationship management within the FMCG sector.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with business clients and consumers.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and competitive environment.
  • Knowledge of the local language and region is highly advantageous.
