DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer with established experience in architecting, designing and developing complete technical solutions for complex, ambiguous situations and requirements that has significant business value. Hands on experience in building scalable and extensible web services, using right AWS / cloud technologies and applying appropriate Machine learning techniques is preferred.
If you are a fast learner with strong technical skills and motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment with great analytical reasoning skills, you would want to be part of our team and the challenges we take forward. We are part of the Shipping Technology organization that owns the generation of operationally critical artefacts.
A day in the life
You advice Software Development Managers, Sr. Software Managers, Product Managers and other Engineers on product architecture and technical solves. You provide the architectural and technical vision for the Product / Service and lead the team technically towards the vision. You evaluate multiple technical choices and make right trade-off between short term needs and long term requirements. You mentor team members and raise the bar on high standards with your reviews of their artefacts. You are hands-on and take up development of complex pieces of the architecture and write exemplary code that raises the bar on coding standards and best practices.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
