Job Description

Lead the architecture vision for foundational systems, with a focus on scalability, resilience, and security. Innovate, tackle technical debt and modernize legacy components, ensuring architectural integrity is preserved. Define and implement architecture standards, patterns, and guardrails across engineering teams. Bring hands-on experience from having scaled a technology platform from mid-stage startup to large enterprise. Apply lessons learned from real-world scaling challenges - performance bottlenecks, compliance demands, re-platforming, and team growth. Evaluate emerging technologies (AI/ML, serverless, advanced analytics) and assess their architectural fit. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams to enhance their skillsets.

The Successful Applicant

A successful SVP Engineering should have:

15+ years of software engineering & architecture experience, with expertise in Java, Kotlin (optional), Python, and cloud-native microservices. Proven history of scaling a platform from mid-stage to enterprise scale in a complex domain (fintech preferred). Strong understanding of AWS, serverless architecture, microservices, and architecture frameworks. Demonstrated leadership through influence, with the ability to inspire teams with/out formal authority. Ability to design for compliance, security, and high availability in regulated industries.
