We are seeking an experienced engineering manager to lead a Python Infrastructure team responsible for building and maintaining foundational software infrastructure. This infrastructure powers a wide range of applications across the organization and is critical to daily operations.

The team delivers solutions for analytic computations, data storage, and data services built primarily in Python. This includes creating high-performance data structures and analysis tools, enabling parallel programming for grid computing, and building server infrastructure that other teams can leverage. The team also develops unit testing frameworks, documentation infrastructure, and focuses heavily on performance through optimizations of core libraries using lower-level languages and compilation techniques.

What You Will Do

  • Lead and manage a team of engineers, fostering a productive and collaborative environment.

  • Drive development of infrastructure solutions, focusing on areas such as:

  • Optimizing in-house data analytics frameworks with better algorithms, SIMD, and multi-core techniques.

  • Enhancing data caching frameworks with new backends and low-level optimizations.

  • Collaborate with business and technical teams to accelerate workflows dependent on Python infrastructure.

  • Provide technical direction, establish best practices, and ensure timely delivery of projects.
  • Oversee people management, project execution, and stakeholder communication.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 6–12 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals, design concepts, problem solving, and analytical skills.
  • Hands-on expertise with Python performance optimization using C, C++, Cython, Numba, or AOT/JIT compilation techniques.
  • At least 1 year of people and team management experience, with a track record of leading teams of 2 or more engineers.
  • Strong stakeholder management abilities with effective written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience working in enterprise-scale or product-based environments.
  • Prior exposure to infrastructure platforms supporting large internal user bases.
