Sr. Software Engineer

Team Summary

The Risk and Identity Solutions (RaIS) team provides risk management services for banks, merchants, and other payment networks. Machine learning and AI models are the heart of the real-time insights used by our clients to manage risk. Created by the Visa Predictive Models (VPM) team, continual improvement and efficient deployment of these models is essential for our future success. To support our rapidly growing suite of predictive models we are looking for engineers who are passionate about managing large volumes of data, creating efficient, automated processes and standardizing ML/AI tools.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• We are looking for a technically expert Sr Software Engineer for our team based out our BLR office to assure client success in using our product.
• You will have an opportunity to participate in design reviews and identify gaps, detect problems, perform root cause analysis, identify, and implement permanent solutions.
• As a Sr, SW Engineer, you will have the opportunity to bring your creative mind and technology experience to help build dashboards, audit, alert, and solutions.
• Develop and maintain automation tools to handle all engineering and application support tasks. 
• Ability to write and maintain scripts to monitor system activity including application smoke test activities during production implementations. 
• Engage in production issue troubleshooting bridge calls, provide immediate service restoration, follow up on root cause analysis, and ensure permanent fix is implemented to avoid similar problems in the future.
• Work closely with the corresponding dev teams on suggesting new features and enhancements based on live issues.
• Subject matter expertise for the assigned product verticals.
• Must be flexible to working in shifts and during weekends and extended hours when needed.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Basic Qualifications:
• 2+ years of relevant work experience and a bachelor’s degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
3 or more years of work experience with a bachelor’s degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. master’s in technology)
Proficiency in scripting and automation skills, converting manual and maintenance functions into fully orchestrated automation.
Strong experience using programming languages like Python or Golang or Java or Kotlin etc- with the ability to lead through ambiguity while partnering across organizations.
Expertise in front-end technologies, including JavaScript, CSS3 and HTML5 and third-party libraries such as ReactJS, Angular, jQuery, and Less.js.
Working knowledge of Chef/Ansible or equivalent is a must.
Working knowledge in Containerization platform tools like Kubernetes, Docker.
Experience with databases (e.g. MongoDB), web servers (e.g. Apache), and UI/UX design.
Deep knowledge and experience on automation engineering, robotic process automation, systems engineering, change procedure automation, AI/ML technologies (monitoring/alerting automation, observability automation, configuration management automation, smart alerting, dynamic topology mapping, auto ticket triage, deployment automation, infrastructure orchestration, and analytics) and secure software development practices.
Strong experience in researching the latest automation and AIOps trends and proposing advanced tooling/solutions for frontline operations management.
Experience leveraging on-prem datacenters as well as AWS/Azure/GCP to monitor/alert and change highly reliable and scalable private and public cloud applications.
Understanding of network, systems, storage, compute, operations and ITSM processes.
Strong verbal and written communications skills, ability to quickly master new systems and/or processes, capacity to stay organized while managing competing priorities.
Demonstrated understanding of systems, applications, monitoring solutions and operational characteristics of highly available and scalable systems.
Should have hands on and good understanding on Release Engineering &
Devops tools.
Responsible for CI/ CD process and issues with respect to release engineering.
Proficient in one or more scripting languages is a plus: Unix Shell, Perl
