Senior Systems Engineer – Linux/Unix

to join our global team. Significant experience required with both Linux/Unix and Automation/Orchestration technologies focusing mainly on build out, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our platforms and infrastructure. You will become part of a diligent team of engineers that deliver infrastructure solutions to host mission critical applications on-premises and in the cloud. This role focuses on maintaining and promoting security, availability, and redundancy strategies.Qualifications:Bachelors/Master degree in Computer Science, Engineer, or a related degree.6+ years working with various Linux/Unix Distributions (RedHat, Oracle Enterprise Linux, Solaris).Highly organized and have clear, concise communication skills.Ability to function in a Global organization with a flexible and dynamic team environment.Significant experience with scripting / automation technologies (Terraform, Ansible).Significant Operating System Engineering Experience (RedHat, Oracle Enterprise Linux, Solaris).Significant Experience in Managing Linux servers (Satellite, Oracle Linux Manager).Experience in managing Virtual Machines in Azure.Experience with VMWare ESXi.Experience with Linux/Unix patch management processes.Experience with Data Protection solutions – CommVault a plus.Experience with Disaster Recovery Strategies and Technologies- Zerto a plus.Windows experience– a plus.Storage Experience (DELL / EMC, HP, NetApp) – both FC and iSCSI a plus.Key Accountabilities:Responsible for technical management, operation, and maintenance of Server infrastructure.Defines, reviews, and maintains hardware/software technical standards, especially related to installation, configuration, management, and maintenance of systems.Conduct research on industry trends, emerging technologies, software, and systems products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.Keeps IT management abreast of any changes across multiple technologies which may impact business decisions.Propose and create system design models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to other team members and teams.Mentor junior staff members to promote standardization and project initiatives / Provide orientation and training.Final technical escalation point for technical issues from associated IT teams and membersEnsures the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of systems that support core organizational functions.Monitors key system parameters to ensure optimum performance and maximum system uptime is being maintained for essential systems.Required to participate in an on-call rotation.
