Staff Engineer, Design Evaluation Engineering

Overview:
ADI's Digital Business Unit is looking for a strong technical lead in their Design Evaluation Engineering function. As a Technical Lead, you will spearhead Bench Evaluation (Validation) activities for newly developed ICs within our Processor and MCU product lines. Your role will encompass leading a team through the post-silicon phase, from initial silicon bring-up to validation across Process, Voltage, and Temperature (PVT) variations. We are seeking a technically adept individual with a track record in validation, collaborating seamlessly with cross-functional teams like Product & Test, and demonstrating the ability to engage effectively with ADI's global teams.
Responsibilities:
Design innovative, reliable, and efficient bench hardware and software solutions for digital and mixed signal complex SoCs. Lead the definition and development of Design for Testability (DFT) strategies in close collaboration with the Design team, enhancing debug and test capabilities. Develop and execute the eval test & measurement plans, encompassing silicon functionality, characterization, and debugging, in coordination with Test, Design, and Application teams. Provide technical guidance and contribute to the hiring process for Eval team members required for new product development.Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering. 8-10 years of hands-on experience in high-speed digital validation of MCUs such as ARM Cortex, DSPs, and NPUs. Proficiency in characterizing high-speed interfaces including DDR3, PCIe, GigE, USB, HDMI, etc. Experience liaising with external vendors for compliance testing of interfaces like DDR and USB. Expertise in conducting performance benchmarks at the system level to assess power and speed for MCUs, DSPs, and NPUs. Ability to collaborate with Applications teams to define system-level use-case scenarios for bench validation. Proficient in bench software development and familiar with tool chains like IAR, Keil, etc. Strong analytical and statistical skills, with proficiency in Python programming. Familiarity with bench equipment such as Oscilloscope, VI meter, Signal generator, and analyzers. Capable of collaborating with test engineers to strategize overall product characterization between Eval and Test phases. Self-motivated, with a sense of ownership and accountability. Ability to mentor and train junior engineers as necessary. Excellent interpersonal communication skills and a strong team player.
