Job Description

 

As a Site Engineer, it will be your job to supervise the execution of our turn key projects at site. These will typically be residential projects, but may also extend to hospitality, commercial or office projects.


The candidate will be expected to conduct site surveys before the site work begins, submit reports accordingly to the quantity surveyor and/or the project architect or interior designer. The candidate will be expected to work closely with these stakeholders in order to ensure that projects kick off in an efficient manner.


The candidate must be able to work with cross-departmental teams to arrive at cost estimates, as well as vendors and at times clients to ensure the correct materials/finishes are being applied and cost for. Interactions with the quantity surveyors and sub-contractors is vital, and should be a smooth and consistent process.


Candidates should have 2-3 years of experience in the construction/civil/interior turn-key works sectors.

We are looking for team players, who have excellent communication skills. Candidates should be organised and approach work with a data and number-centric approach.


One of the key metrics for the candidate will be timely handover of site work, while ensuring quality standards are met.


Fluency in Kannada and Hindi is preferred.

 

Candidate Requirements-

 

·        Job experience of 2-3 years preferred.

·        Have good command and experience with using Microsoft Office. Particularly Microsoft Excel.

·        A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering is mandatory.  

·        Exposure to commercial interior projects/turnkey projects is highly sought after.

·        Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

·        Fluency in Kannada and Hindi preferred.

·        Experience and fluency with Autocad is a must.

·        Candidate will be required to travel frequently to the various sites in Bangalore, but also perhaps out of Bangalore as per requirements. Cost for this conveyance will be borne by the company.

·        The ability to think quickly on their feet and deal with escalations and problems as they arise. Experience that prevents issues from occurring will be highly valued.


Responsibilities-

·        Coordination with quantity surveyors, interior designers/architects to ensure the BOQ is prepared correctly for execution at site.

·        Conducting site surveys and submitting reports pre project kick off.

·        Managing junior site engineers if applicable.

·        Managing sub-contractors at site such as labour, construction, false ceiling, MEP, etc.

·        Ensuring that the work schedule is adhered to and that the cost of the project doesn’t extend beyond budgets or estimates according to the BOQ in terms of timeliness, reworks, etc.

·        Receiving materials at site, and checking and ensuring the quality. Escalating to the purchase department if there are any sub-standard material or quantity mismatches.

·        Making sure that the quality of work is up to the highest standards.

·        Preparation of bills and submission of the same for various site works for approval.  

·        Being aware of any possible escalations or additional requirements as per the progress of the site and informing the operations team of the same in a timely manner.

·        Communicate effectively with other members of the team.

 

A keen eye for detail, knowledge and experience in the turn key/interiors/civil interiors industry is highly welcome. A hands-on approach to work that results in cost saving, smooth execution and customer satisfaction will be recognised and rewarded
