Access to NT Thrive Grant – $7000 Continuous professional development Congress is seeking a passionate and experienced Credentialed Diabetes Nurse Educator to join our multidisciplinary Allied Health team. This is a unique opportunity to deliver culturally responsive diabetes education and clinical care across Alice Springs and five remote Aboriginal communities. About Us Congress is an Aboriginal community-controlled health service providing comprehensive primary health care to Aboriginal people in Central Australia. Our team includes GPs, Aboriginal Health Practitioners, Nurses, Allied Health Professionals, Liaison Officers, and more—working together to improve health outcomes through culturally safe care. Your Role As a Credentialed Diabetes Nurse Educator, you will: Deliver expert, evidence-based diabetes education and clinical care to clients and families Promote prevention and awareness through culturally appropriate resources and health promotion activities Support insulin management and care planning across service boundaries Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care Travel to remote communities to consult and educate in diverse settings Maintain accurate clinical records and facilitate Medicare claiming Act as a resource for other health professionals, enhancing diabetes-related knowledge and service delivery What You’ll Need Essential: AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with 3+ years’ experience in chronic disease or primary health care Credentialed with the Australian Diabetes Educators Association Strong cross-cultural communication skills and computer literacy Sensitivity to Aboriginal culture and current health issues Willingness and fitness to travel remotely NT Manual Driver’s Licence Desirable: Experience in Aboriginal Medical Services or remote settings NT ‘About Giving Vaccines’ Certificate (or willingness to obtain) If you are interested in this opportunity, apply now or give Rell a call on to find out more.
