We are looking for a
Solar Designer
who can bring both technical expertise and practical site understanding to our EPC projects. This role is India-focused and will require designing systems aligned with local regulations, DISCOM guidelines, and ground realities of installation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare complete solar PV system designs (rooftop/commercial/industrial) using software like AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope, and SketchUp.
- Conduct site surveys, analyze shadow studies, and calculate plant sizing considering roof space, tilt, and orientation.
- Create Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), cable schedules, stringing layouts, and BOMs.
- Work closely with the sales and project teams to provide accurate technical inputs for proposals, DPRs, and client presentations.
- Ensure designs comply with Indian standards, CEIG, and DISCOM requirements (net-metering, grid compliance, safety norms).
- Optimize designs for performance, cost, and ease of installation.
- Collaborate with vendors and procurement for structure, inverter, and BOS selection.
- Support project execution team during installation and commissioning with design clarifications.
Required Skills & Experience
- Education:
Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.
- Experience:
0–3 years of experience in solar PV design (residential, commercial, or industrial)
- Proficiency in
AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope, MS Excel
, and related tools.
- Strong knowledge of Indian electrical codes, net-metering policies, and safety standards.
- Familiarity with solar panels, inverters, stringing, and earthing practices in India.
- Ability to analyze power consumption patterns and optimize system design accordingly.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work with tight deadlines.
