ABOUT THE ROLE:Lead a small team of video engineers localizing client’s content into different languages. Work with Project Managers, provide technical expertise on client calls, manage work among junior colleagues, monitor quality.Adapt client’s videos for different markets by replacing On-Screen Text with translations, hardcoding subtitles, and making minor edits.

RESPONSIBILITIES:Preparation for localizationAnalyze incoming files to assess their completeness and suitability for localization according to project requirementsEstimate localization effortRaise queriesOptimize and reorganize project assetsExtract localizable On-Screen Text from sourceCreate project templates for localization (recreation of editable text based on reference and textless videos)Planning, Task Distribution, and TeamworkCoordinate scheduling with Project ManagersAllocate tasks among a team of engineersMonitor progress and schedulesAdapt to tight deadlines and last-minute requestsEscalate and resolve issuesCooperate with other teams within and outside of Rich Media DeliveryMentor junior colleaguesClient InteractionAttend client calls to discuss technical details and provide support to Client Services teamAdvise on best practices and suggest optimal workflows to meet client needsLocalization into multiple languagesReplace On-Screen Text adjustment layoutEmbed/hardcode translated subtitlesPerform minor edits – product image replacement, scene replacement, object masking/rotoscoping, etc.Follow all client-specific instructions and internal proceduresEncode videos according to delivery specificationsQuality managementEnsure that all work is performed according to established proceduresCheck Quality and prepare deliveries as per customer specificationsDocumentationDocument processes and workflowsDocument client-specific requirementsOptimizationDevelop new processes and improve existing onesFamiliarize with new tools and online platforms related to video editing, localization, and AI

REQUIREMENTS:English level – proficient (C1) - Excellent communication skills both oral and writtenWorking hours: 8am EST – 5pm EST (US East Coast hours supporting NASA team)Fast and stable internet connectionExperience and good knowledge of After Effects and Adobe Premiere Pro (primarily AE)Basic knowledge of After Effects expressions (or JavaScript)Basic/Intermediate knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator (focus on text layers)Experience and understanding of: bitmap and vector image editing, non-linear video editing, compositing and effects, animation, video encoding, general video productionKnowledge, understanding and experience of typography and font useCompetent use of Windows and fundamental IT knowledgeHigh level of organization skills and ability to prioritize tasksBeing hard working, conscientious, proactive, self-motivatedStrong people skillsAbility to work under pressure to meet tight deadlinesThoroughness and attention to detailPut a small picture of a cat in your CV to demonstrate thatAbility to problem-solve and troubleshoot

NICE TO HAVE:Understanding of audio production and editingUnderstanding of subtitling formats and best practicesKnowledge of Windows scripting and command lineKnowledge of other video editing software (both offline and online)Understanding where automation and AI technology can be implemented to reduce cost and timeline for our clients whilst meeting their quality requirements

WHAT THIS JOB ISN’T:Shooting videos or editing raw footageCreating animations from scratch (except when recreating text animations based on client source)TranslationSubtitle transcription
