About our Team

We are a software engineering team within the Academic and Government division, which helps research institutions track and analyze their research data records.

About the Role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be working on the design, development and quality testing of the software development assignments for the Data Monitor web application. You will partner with cross-functional technical teams to deliver successful projects in an Agile environment. Your responsibilities will encompass end-to-end ownership, ensuring the implementation of customer-centric software solutions while maintaining strict adherence to security, vulnerability, accessibility, GDPR compliance, and other relevant standards.

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain high-quality, responsive web applications.Collaborate with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and other team members to define software requirements and specifications.Translate design concepts into functional and aesthetically pleasing web applications using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks like React.Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and user experience.Lead code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering their professional growth.Operate in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders.Resolve complex technical issues as necessary.Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve our software development processes.All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Overall Work Experience: 5+ Years5-7 years of hands-on software engineering experience.Profound knowledge of software development methodologies, such as Agile and Waterfall.Deep hands-on expertise with JavaScript (including ES6+ syntax and features), React and its ecosystem (e.g., Redux, Context API, React Router) and Node.js.Experience with modern frontend build pipelines and tools (e.g., Webpack, Vite, Babel).Experience in building and contributing components for large design systems is a strong plus.Knowledge of HTML & CSS / SCSSProficiency in writing front-end tests using libraries like React Testing Library, Jest, or similar frameworks.Working knowledge of AWS/GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, GitHub/GitLab, and CI/CD pipelines utilizing tools like Jenkins and GitHub ActionsFamiliarity with web accessibility standards and best practices is a strong plus.Proven experience in software engineering design principles and architecture.Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across various teams.
