Our company

Addcomposites is a team of passionate people with a vision to provide high-quality solutions for digital composites manufacturing. We have designed and developed automated fiber placement (AFP) robotic systems, including a patented process head (AFP-XS), proprietary planning and digital twin software (AddPath), and the Plug-n-Place automation platform fitting a wide range of industrial robotic arms.


The role

We're currently looking for a junior software engineer to join us. In this role, you will be working on a small team developing the AddPath software, a plugin for the CAD program Rhino written primarily in C#. You may be asked to work on a wide range of different tasks, ranging from UI to more mathematical and engineering problems like laminate planning and robot simulation.

Mandatory prerequisites

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Robotics, or other related field
  • Proficiency in writing C#/.NET software (Java is an acceptable alternative)
  • Working knowledge of multivariable calculus and linear algebra
  • Experience with collaborative development using Git on the command line, or as part of the Visual Studio IDE
  • Ability to troubleshoot and debug using Visual Studio tools
  • Ability to explain and discuss ideas fluently in English, both in writing and in speech


Preferred skills (although not obligatory)

  • Familiarity with UI development using the MVVM pattern in WPF (or other UI framework in .NET)
  • Experience with 3D modelling using Rhino or other CAD software
  • Familiarity with the RhinoCommon SDK or Grasshopper
  • Basic knowledge on programming robot arms like ones made by KUKA, ABB, Fanuc, etc.
