Head of Information Technology

Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement an IT strategy aligned with the hospital's goals and objectives.
- Identify opportunities to leverage technology for improving patient care, operational efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in healthcare IT to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
Infrastructure Management:
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the hospital's IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and databases.
- Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of IT systems to support uninterrupted healthcare delivery.
- Collaborate with vendors and external partners to procure hardware, software, and services as needed.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA) and industry standards for EMR usage and data security.
- Provide training and support to healthcare staff on EMR usage and best practices.
Cybersecurity and Data Protection:
- Enforce cybersecurity policies and procedures to protect sensitive patient information and mitigate cyber threats.
- Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and implement appropriate safeguards.
- Respond promptly to security incidents and breaches, coordinating with relevant stakeholders and authorities as necessary.
IT Support and Helpdesk:
- Oversee the IT support team responsible for providing technical assistance to hospital staff and resolving IT-related issues.
- Establish service level agreements (SLAs) for IT support and ensure timely resolution of tickets and inquiries.
- Foster a customer-centric approach to IT support, emphasizing responsiveness and professionalism.
Compliance Documentation:
- Develop and maintain documentation related to IT compliance, including policies, procedures, risk assessments, and incident response plans.
- Ensure that documentation is up-to-date and readily accessible to relevant stakeholders, including auditors and regulatory agencies.
- Coordinate with legal and compliance teams to interpret and apply regulatory requirements to IT practices and procedures.
Budgeting and Resource Management:
- Develop and manage the IT department's budget, allocating resources effectively to support strategic initiatives and operational needs.
- Monitor expenses and identify opportunities for cost optimization without compromising quality or security.
- Provide regular reports and updates to hospital leadership on IT spending, performance metrics, and ROI.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing IT team capable of supporting the hospital's IT needs.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning within the IT department.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members to promote professional growth and development.
