Profile Overview

  • The role functions as the Cluster Head of the API manufacturing operations of the organization.
  • Prepares business plan and ensures achievement of targets under the overall framework of corporate policies to achieve sales and profit objectives in both the short term and long term thereby ensuring success of the API Business.
  • Prepares plans for operational improvement/quality improvement/cost reduction and capacity increase, and ensures their implementation for smooth operations at Roha, Pithampur and Kolhapur plants.


Qualification

  • B.E. (Chemical)/B.Tech, preferably with an MBA


Responsibilities

  • Prepare overall and plant-wise business strategies in alignment to Business.
  • Prepare, implement, analyze, and review business and marketing plans for all API plants.
  • Prepare manufacturing plans and ensures their implementation to achieve smooth operation in terms of delivery, quality, yield and cost.
  • Upgrade capacity as and when required, in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with heads of various support departments to ensure efficient running of business.
  • Ensure the site is all time ready for statutory, regulatory and customer audits.
  • Ensure legal and statutory compliance. Ensure sites are in state of compliance for multiple authorities’ inspections and guides/coordinates during inspections.
  • Work out areas of improvement in product cost, engineering cost and ensures implementation.
  • Oversee key cross functional projects personally as assigned.
  • Coordinate with R&D for smooth technology transfer of new products
  • Guide the liaisioning with relevant Government/Statutory authorities for obtaining permissions/approvals for inspections.
  • Create, establish and institutionalize a safety culture in all API plants.
  • Create and maintain an environment of mutual trust, respect and customer centricity.
  • Build and maintain high performing team and culture.
  • Succession planning for key positions.
  • Ensure compliance to company policies and values.
  • Brand ambassador of Unichem for any internal and external stakeholder at locations.


Desired Experience

  • Around 20 years experience in manufacturing in leading Pharmaceutical organizations.
  • Exposure to general management.
  • Exposure in managing and working with international regulatory authorities and norms like USFDA is a must.
