This is where you can do your best work.Join us at the intersection of saving and sustaining lives—where your purpose accelerates our mission.As the PE, Electrical Engineering, you will be leading a team of Electrical/ Electronics engineers to support Device Engineering development team of the Global Surgical Solutions R&D team in Bangalore (BRD). Your team will develop creative Electrical solutions to challenging problems related to new product development and sustenance engineering of Surgical Solutions and Operating Room Integration Solutions.You will be responsible for creating, ramping up and managing a team that aligns with the organization's vision or strategic plan. You will be responsible to recruit and build the complete team and drive the transfer of select product support ownership to support mainly in the sustaining engineering of surgical tables, communication gateways, Video integration solutions etc. Your team will also be responsible for sustenance activities including change control, investigations for customer complaints and project work to address field issues related electrical components/ subsystems and design changes arising from component obsolescence.You will be expected to, based on significant technical expertise, architect, review and approve complex design concepts and provides general direction to technical staff. Utilize solid understanding of theories and practices of a variety of disciplines to manage complex projects or programs within boundaries of quality, time and budget. You will be acknowledged outside of business unit or division for input on programs of some magnitude. Need to exhibit creativity and innovation in completing divisional and cross-functional/business unit responsibilities.You and your team will work with global cross functional teams located across the globe. Your team, as it grows in capability, will be expected to take on growing responsibilities for legacy products, peripherals, and strategic New Product Development activities.This position is based out of Bangalore and reporting to the R&D Senior Manager, of Global Surgical Care division.Essential Duties and Responsibilities

:Manage, identify, hire, mentor, coach and recognize technical staff, manage career aspirations and performance evaluation of team members; the team may include senior level engineers and technicians.Effectively communicate and realize vision and strategy for the Hardware organization that aligns with the business and product needs.Ability to lead engineers in the group ensuring clear accountability and operational excellence. Ensure effective performance management.Ensures that succession planning, and talent pipeline is in place for technical and functional leadership for the assigned function. Collaborate across multiple locations to leverage talent and processes effectively.Architect, review and approve technical feasibility of complex design concepts and analysis of technologies that incorporate own area of expertise on electrical hardware including but not limited to Mixed Signal circuits for Communication, DSP, Video capture and processing, Motor drives, sensing and controls, power supply etc.Ensure following of relevant international standards for design considerations and deliver robust, reliable, cost effective and efficient hardware designs.Collaborate effectively with other R&D functions such as Systems Engineering, Software and Mechanical engineering teams for timely delivery of projects.Work effectively with cross functional teams including quality, program management, procurement, manufacturing, regulatory, medical and clinical.Collaborate in establishing processes for effective resource management from planning through execution in close collaboration with program management.Foster an environment where mentoring, coaching, career growth and progression, and employee development are critical focus areas.Actively communicate and advocate team’s capabilities and accomplishments.Responsible for development of state-of-the-art industry expertise and technical competencies for the team.Your Team:Reporting directly to Senior Manager – R&D for GSS, you will be responsible for growing a team with the required engineering capabilities to support GSS. Your team includes Electrical/ Electronics Engineers of varying level of qualification and experience.Your Location:The role is located in the BRD facility in Bangalore India.What You’ll Bring:Bachelors Degree in Electrical/ Electronics engineering with 12-17 years of experience.Demonstrated experience in leading technical teams, preferably in managing product development teams.At least 3 years of formal functional leadership experience.Medical device, diagnostics, laboratory testing product experience or similar products is preferred.Must be well versed in engineering disciplines (e.g. Mixed signal design, Power electronics, Control system, Sensors, Simulation).Must possess knowledge of related disciplines. Ability to design and implement in own area of expertise.Must be self-motivated, have good interpersonal skills.Capable of analyzing and solving complex problems through innovative thought and experience. Ability to design and influence outside of immediate scope of responsibility.Understanding of and adherence to FDA, ISO and IEC design control procedures, regulations and standards.Baxter is committed to supporting the needs for flexibility in the workplace.
