Job Description:

Overview:


We are seeking a skilled Data Modeler to join our team in Pune. The ideal candidate will be an expert in designing and implementing data solutions that support our business goals. You will be responsible for creating robust data models that are both scalable and optimized for performance. A strong background in Excel-based modeling, SQL, and familiarity with data warehousing concepts like Star Schema and Snowflake Schema is essential. Experience with data modeling tools such as Erwin or ER Studio is highly desirable.



Responsibilities:


Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models using best practices to ensure high data quality and reduced redundancy.

Optimize and update logical and physical data models to support new and existing projects.

Maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models along with corresponding metadata.

Develop and use effective database design techniques including Star Schema and Snowflake Schema for data warehousing.

Perform reverse engineering of physical data models from databases and SQL scripts.

Evaluate data models and physical databases for variances and discrepancies.

Utilize Excel-based modeling techniques for data analysis and reporting.

Validate business data objects for accuracy and completeness.

Analyze data-related system integration challenges and propose appropriate solutions.

Collaborate with IT teams and management to devise a data strategy that addresses industry requirements.

Build data models according to company standards.


Technical Skills:


Proficiency in data modeling principles/methods including conceptual, logical & physical Data Models.

Strong knowledge of Excel-based modeling and SQL.

Experience with data modeling tools such as Erwin or ER Studio.

Understanding of methodologies and techniques for designing data warehouse solutions including Star Schema and Snowflake Schema.

Knowledge of database optimization techniques.


Additional Skills:


Familiarity with data mining and segmentation techniques.

Knowledge of one or more programming languages (Python, Java, etc.) is a plus.


Experience:


Proven work experience as a Data Modeler, Data Architect, or similar role.

Experience in creating detailed database designs and comprehensive data models.

Experience in the industry with a strong understanding of data analytics and management principles.
