POSITION PURPOSEThe Head of Application Development and Maintenance plays pivotal role in supporting AXA's TDO 3-year strategy, with a primary focus on enriching AXA GBS's Application Development, Monitoring and Maintenance offerings.Reporting directly to the global ExCom of AXA GBS, the role holder is responsible for teams within India, Morocco, and potential additional locations, with the ambition to create a single global capability unit.They are mandated to collaborate and co-create applications development, monitoring and maintenance services with AXA Entities, working closely with a broad range of CXO level stakeholders in a continuous process of development.Leading a team currently of 200 employees based in India and Morocco which is expected to grow over the next 3 years to 500 FTE, this role is ideal for someone who is capable of developing services, driving innovation, and broadly collaborating with Group and Entities. It represents a strategic capability for AXA Group and a fundamental new service area for AXA GBS as part of our own AXAllence Strategy.Thus, the impact of this role directly influences the strategy and operational effectiveness of Application Development and Maintenance across AXA GBS, AXA Group, and various divisions, regions, and teams. Their extensive interaction within and outside the organization, serving as the external face of AXA GBS, and engaging in high-level negotiations both internally and externally, promotes effective collaboration and alignment, further enhancing their impact. Overall, the Head of Application Development and Maintenance drives operational excellence, technical expertise, and strategic effectiveness across the organization, positioning AXA GBS as an industry leader in application development and maintenance services.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage the maintenance and support of a portfolio of diverse and complex applications that are of critical strategic impact and organizational significance to AXAWork with AXA GO and various AXA Entities to achieve strategic business objectives.Define a strategy for Application Development and Maintenance of AXA GBS drawing parallels from the AXAllence Strategy.Own the budgeting and budget approval and monitoring of project financials:Ensure project / program related resourcing is effectively articulated and monitor project work to identify and address changes to project scopes and/or resource requirements in a timely manner.Establishes priorities and documents staffing requirements for current and future years.Facilitate project planning activities and integrate individual project strategies into an overall strategy to ensure and effective and seamless execution of projects:Develop and maintain program / project plans, including defining goals, milestones, deliverables, and timelines.Align / improve / refine the program / project management methodologies.Possess apt knowledge of various methodologies like Waterfall and Agile:Build and drive the Agile mindset and competence within AXA GBSBreadth of knowledge across the following technologies:Java, C#, Powershell, VB.NET, Python, SQL, HTMLOther Microsoft technologies (including PowerApps / Platform)Cloud technologies (Microsoft Azure, AWS and GCP)DevOps - CI/CD (Github, Jenkins)Service NowSAP & PeoplesoftSalesforceProvide strategic direction and day-to-day leadership to a team of technical and business SME at AXA GBS.Share industry insights, and best practices to optimize the performance and productivity of project teams across and ensure activities are aligned with GO and Entity’s business strategies and priorities.Facilitate collaboration and communication between project teams, developers, test engineers and other stakeholders.Providing necessary skilling requirements to the L&D team for the progression of resources.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

20+ years of experience in Application Development, Monitoring and Maintenance10 years’ experience in a tier-1 consulting firm as Delivery Partner is requiredProven track record of assessing or conducting maturity assessment of client landscape.Strong understanding of the insurance industry, its products, and market dynamicsExcellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiencesStrong negotiation and relationship-building skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamSelf-motivated and results-oriented, with a strong work ethic
