is looking for
Data Scientist
to be the part of its global platform and applications development team in Technology group.The data scientist will be responsible for planning, executing and delivering novel projects as John Crane incorporates advanced analytics and machine learning throughout our products and services.The work will involve problem analysis, data exploration and preparation, data collection and integration, AI/machine learning modelling, and operationalization.Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities:Work on a team designing software and algorithms to solve real-world problems in industrial processes. Use machine learning techniques, statistical tests, algorithms, and physically motivated models as appropriate.Perform in-depth exploratory analysis of data from the field and laboratory experiments.Domain knowledge about mechanical systems to aid in analysis and interpretation. Display drive and curiosity to understand the business process to its coreUnderstand new data sources and process pipelines, and catalog/document themWork with various databases such as SQL or graph databases, and other source systemsApply a variety AI/ML and advanced analytics techniques to perform classification or prediction tasksRun experiments and test models using cross-validation, A/B testing, bias and fairness, etc.Maintain and update the analytics software platform (Python)Establish best practices around AI/ML production infrastructureThe Individual
Skills and experiences:A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, data science, operations research, statistics, applied mathematics, or a related quantitative field such as, economics, engineering and physics is preferred.Candidates should have 3+ years of relevant project experience in successfully launching, planning, executing of data science projects.
