Site Reliability Engineers - Senior & Principal (Hybrid)

We are recruiting for a number of Site Reliability Engineers to work cross-functionally on the latest cloud infrastructure and platforms to build services providing security for collaboration suites in Bangalore, India.

What You'll Do:Deploying, managing, and monitoring software across the full Continuous Delivery lifecycleBuilding and supporting analysis tools for our cloud-security productsParticipating in development of new services within the Mimecast platformSupporting and troubleshooting, occasionally outside of regular office hours when neededWorking closely with developers to bring an operational perspective to the work of the team, suggesting ways to help the systems scale further, better, and more easilyParticipating in and driving forward any operational initiatives such as containerization and virtualization technologiesContributing to design/code reviews for product and test codeReporting, reproducing, and helping development resolve defects – emphasis on troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and prevention of similar issues in the futureMonitoring our results and driving continuous improvement through process changesMentoring and coaching junior engineers

What You'll Bring:6+ years of experience as a Site Reliability or DevOps EngineerEngineering / Computer science degree or equivalent experienceHands-on experience automating the deployment and monitoring of distributed applications at large scale running in both public and private cloud, including:Configuration management of servers using tools such as Puppet (preferred), Chef, or AnsibleInfrastructure as Code (IaC) and orchestration tools like Terraform (preferred) and CloudFormationLogging, Monitoring, Alerting technologies like CloudWatch, Humio, Nagios/Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana, Graphite and similarExtensive experience with AWS compute (EC2, Lambda), storage (S3, EFS, Glacier), databases (RDS, ElastiCache, Dynamo, Neptune), management (Auto Scaling, provisioning, monitoring, and reporting tools), and security (IAM, Secrets Manager)Admin-level familiarity with Linux, including configuration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning / identifying bottlenecksWorking knowledge of Docker/Kubernetes/MinikubeWorking knowledge of networking and routingBasic database knowledge, working knowledge of SQLCoding experience in at least one scripting language apart from BASH – PHP preferred, PowerShell, Python, others helpfulSolid grasp of object-oriented programming conceptsProven ability to integrate with and automate using third party APIs (e.g., Google, Microsoft, Amazon etc)Experience with build and CI/CD pipeline tools like Jenkins (preferred) or Gitlab CI and related technologies (Nexus, static code analysis tools, open-source scans, etc.)

Desirable Skills:Experience with Agile Scrum, potentially across multiple teamsClear understanding of OWASP Top 10 security vulnerabilitiesExperience of working as part of a SaaS solution and multi-tenant systemsBasic understanding of authorization protocols such as OAuthExperience with NGINX, API Management Platforms such as Apigee, Kong and WSO2, and Identity and Access management servers.Prior experience in Distributed Systems Architecture and best practices.Continuous delivery - principles and pragmatics of dealing with build pipelines, artifact repositories, zero-downtime deployment, and modern software development engineering best practices.Experience in migrating and supporting applications on KubernetesHands on experience with open-source monitoring and graphing solutions such as Zabbix, Sensu, etc.PostgreSQL database configuration and management of replication.Proving resilience via failure injection (chaos monkey), DR testing, scalability via load and stress testing.
