Job Description – .NET Developer Experience 6-8 years India (Remote) UK/US Shift time Role Overview: The .NET Developer will be responsible for integrating OpenTelemetry SDKs into Xchange and Code applications built on the .NET Framework. The developer will support the migration from New Relic agents to OpenTelemetry instrumentation, ensuring observability continuity across logs, metrics, and traces. Key Responsibilities: Integrate OpenTelemetry SDKs in .NET-based applications (.NET Framework 4.7.1, MVC C#, nHibernate). Replace New Relic agents with OpenTelemetry in ~200 Xchange components including APIs, web apps, console apps, and SSIS/ADF jobs. Configure telemetry to support traces, metrics, logs, database calls, and APIM integration. Validate telemetry export via OTLP to New Relic and new backend (e.G., Azure Monitor). Participate in PoC and rollout phases for SDK implementation. Work with DevOps and Observability teams to configure OpenTelemetry Collector where needed. Ensure application compatibility, performance integrity, and data accuracy after instrumentation. Collaborate on recreating and validating dashboards and alerts. Required Skills: Strong hands-on experience with .NET Framework (C#, MVC), Windows Services, WCF and ADO.NET/Entity Framework/nHibernate. Experience in Azure Apps, Any Observability framework / Open Telemetry Prior experience in telemetry instrumentation using OpenTelemetry SDKs. Familiarity with Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics. Experience with Git/Azure DevOps for code integration and CI/CD pipelines. Good understanding of logs/traces/metrics in enterprise-grade applications. Ability to troubleshoot and debug distributed telemetry issues.
