Roles & Responsiblities

  • The core of our work is the timely delivery of DHL packages around the globe while ensuring the security of customer data. You will be part of an agile team that implements new features for our yard management IT system in Germany. Software quality and test automation are key to front-end development with Angular and Android mobile apps or backend development with Java.
  • HLS (Hoflogistiksystem = Yard Management System) is the distributed IT system that supports our DHL colleagues in managing the yard of their P&P parcel sorting centers. This includes the semi-automated entry and exit of transports, the loading and unloading of swap bodies at the gates, and all shunting movements in the yard. 30.000 to 50.000 parcels per hour can be sorted in each location.
  • HLS consists of 38 decentralized instances for each sorting center in Germany, including several
  • mobile devices, and a central, cloud-based component.
  • You and your team will communicate directly with our business partner at DHL P&P in Germany to refine their requirements together, plan sprints, and report your progress in daily stand-ups and sprint reviews.

Our tech stack consists of

  • Backend: Java (jdk17+), Spring, SpringBoot, JPA, REST/ SQL (PostgreSQL), JUnit
  • Frontend: Angular 16+, Typescript, Selenium, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap
  • Mobile: Android (Android 9+), Kotlin, Appium
  • Development and Build Tools:
  • GIT, Eclipse, Visual Studio Code, Maven
  • Very good knowledge of CI/CD and cloud platforms will also be an integral part of this role.
  • You can work independently, prioritize, and organize your tasks under time and workload pressure. Working in a multinational environment, you can expect cross-region collaboration with teams around the globe; thus, being advanced in spoken and written English will be mandatory.
