Role Description

This is a contract, on-site role for a Chief Engineer located in Ernakulam. The Chief Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the engine department, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of engine room machinery, and performing regular maintenance and repairs. Other tasks include maintaining inventory of spare parts, ensuring compliance with environmental and regulatory standards, and coordinating with the captain and other crew members to ensure smooth vessel operations.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in engineering operations, maintenance, and repair of engine room machinery
  • Knowledge of environmental and regulatory standards in maritime operations
  • Effective communication and leadership skills to coordinate with the captain and crew
  • Experience in inventory management of spare parts
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Relevant certifications and credentials in maritime engineering
  • Previous experience as a Chief Engineer or in a similar role is preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering or a related field
