Reports To: Network Operations Manager / IT Infrastructure Lead

Job Summary

The Routing, Switching & Networking Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's network infrastructure. This includes configuring routers, switches, and firewalls, optimizing routing protocols, and ensuring secure, high-performance connectivity across enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Network Design & Deployment

  • Architect and deploy scalable routing and switching solutions

  • Configure and maintain routers, switches, and wireless controllers

  • Protocol Management

  • Implement and optimize routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP

  • Manage Layer 2 technologies including VLANs, STP, and EtherChannel

  • Monitoring & Troubleshooting

  • Monitor network performance and proactively resolve issues

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot routing errors, switch malfunctions, and connectivity problems

  • Security & Compliance

  • Implement security measures in routing and switching protocols

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and conduct regular audits

  • Documentation & Collaboration

  • Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations and procedures

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support infrastructure needsRole & responsibilities
