We are looking for a Senior Technology lead to build and run the Commodities Technology department in Asia. The chosen candidate will have a chance to mentor and advise multiple technical teams and move the global commodities technology agenda forward. It’s a big challenge with big impact. 

As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate & Investment Banking's MACRO Tech team, you serve in a leadership role by providing technical coaching and advisory for multiple technical teams, as well as anticipate the needs and potential dependencies of other functions within the firm. As an expert in your field, your insights influence budget and technical considerations to advance operational efficiencies and functionalities.

Job responsibilities

Run a X-Commodites Tech agenda globally and interact with senior stakeholders in all regions Provide presence for the Commodities Tech agenda on the global Macro tech landscape and advise and coordinate strategic solutions that work across the board. Identify and Build talent in the India team and we expand our presence in Asia. Provide overall direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers that work on basic to moderately complex tasks Oversees decisions that influence teams’ resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures Ensures successful collaboration across teams and stakeholders Identifies and mitigates issues to execute a book of work while escalating issues as necessary Provides input to leadership regarding budget, approach, and technical considerations to improve operational efficiencies and functionality for the team Creates a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for team members and prioritizes diverse representation

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, 2+ years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise Experience leading teams of technologists Hands-on experience as a engineering lead  A true go getter – having the ability to identify solutions by working within the team and externally Ability to guide and coach teams on approach to achieve goals aligned against a set of strategic initiatives Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent In-depth knowledge of the services industry and their IT systems Practical cloud native experience Experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and expertise in technology disciplines

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Python or similar platform experience like Athena Hands on Front office development experience  Ideally experience in Commodities or any other asset class Experience working at code level Athena experience
