Job Description:

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated System Administrator to join our team. As a System Administrator, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and reliable operation of computer systems and network infrastructure. You will ensure the integrity and security of our IT infrastructure, troubleshoot system issues, and provide technical support to end-users. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in system administration, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain server operating systems, hardware, and software.
  • Manage and monitor network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
  • Perform system upgrades, patches, and backups to ensure system reliability and security.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and implement solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Monitor system performance and optimize system resources as needed.
  • Implement and maintain security measures to protect against unauthorized access and cyber threats.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware and software problems.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to design and implement solutions to meet business needs.
  • Document system configurations, processes, and procedures to ensure effective knowledge transfer.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in system administration and cybersecurity.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience as a System Administrator or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of server and network administration principles and best practices.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Azure is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of networking protocols and services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze and resolve technical issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, MCSA (Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate), or CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) are a plus.
