The Nutanix Content Management team is building new best-in-breed hybrid cloud infrastructure management plane workflows for core infrastructure building blocks like virtual machine templates, disks, OVAs and Nutanix native container registry.We are developing a new backend service and architecture focused towards building the next arc for effectively scaling to hybrid cloud infrastructure demands. As a Senior Engineering Manager for Nutanix Content Management team, you will lead a team of passionate engineers to drive the development and evolution of our cutting-edge hybrid cloud infrastructure management plane. You will play a key role in shaping the future of our product, ensuring product simplicity and delight for Nutanix customers.
Engineering / R&D at Nutanix Nutanix Content Management Service (CMS) simplifies and unifies the management of business-critical hybrid cloud infrastructure components by extending the management plane across network and geographic boundaries. For administrators, CMS speeds time to value and reduces operational risk by introducing a no overhead, easy single pane of glass management model. For business owners, CMS increases cost efficiency and speed towards delivery of a resilient hybrid cloud infrastructure. CMS aspires to exemplify true hybrid cloud model through its products and integrate seamlessly with popular hyperscaler cloud platform offerings. CMS is expected to operate in large customer environments spanning 100s geographically distributed cluster environments with 1000s of hybrid cloud infrastructure management entities. The CMS team’s primary technology stack is in Python and Golang. The team owns a Nutanix native service backend handling a Restful hybrid cloud entity management interface.
Your Role: Technical Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of skilled engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation. Provide guidance on Cloud infrastructure management, entity data management, and related technologies, ensuring the team's technical proficiency and growth. Product Development: Collaborate with Product Managers and Architects to define the CMS roadmap and guide the team in its execution. Oversee the end-to-end development lifecycle, from design and implementation to testing and timely release, ensuring high-quality and reliable software. Demonstrate excellent intuition for RESTful API design, backend service architecture and design. Demonstrate deep knowledge of enterprise hybrid cloud architecture and management ensuring seamless integration with hyperscaler cloud provider platforms in addition to Nutanix native hybrid cloud platform. Stay updated with cloud ecosystem developments, industry trends, and best practices, driving continuous improvement and technical growth within the team. Demonstrate a fondness for computer programming and willingness to roll up your sleeves and program if necessary. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with the Nutanix Global (India, USA, Mexico) engineering and multi-functional teams Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, DevOps, and Customer Support, to align product development with customer needs and market demands. Foster collaboration and effective communication across teams, promoting a cohesive and unified approach to product development.

Ensure CMS product offering meets high reliability, quality, and performance standards, meeting or exceeding customer expectations. People Management: Demonstrate a high degree of empathy for your customers, team members and peers. Strive for their enablement and success. What You Will Bring Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in software product development. Experience with hybrid cloud platforms, distributed systems, containerization, and building RESTful APIs is a strong plus. Proven leadership experience, managing engineering teams and delivering successful software products. Experience leading a team of 15-20 engineers. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly and effectively. Experience with agile methodologies, project management tools, and version control systems. Good to Have Experience working in areas of enterprise product development or hyperscalers, including Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, GCP, VMware vSphere, etc. Experience with cloud native development methodologies.
