Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Commodity Strategy**:
- Develop Long term commodity
- Track global raw-material (RM) indices; Finalize quarterly / Monthly RM rates
Project Sourcing
- Early supplier involvement with Design & generate VAVE ideas worth 2 % BOM savings per project.
- Issue RFQ/RFI, drive Should-Cost models, and release budgetary costs during concept freeze.
Supplier Identification & Development
Identify and onboard new suppliers to meet NPD (New Product Development) timelines and technical requirements.
Scout vendors for capacity expansion and emerging manufacturing technologies to support future demand.
Evaluate technology partners that offer enhanced quality, automation, or cost advantages compared to legacy suppliers.
Drive Make vs Buy analysis and supplier localization initiatives to optimize landed cost and lead times.
Negotiation & Contracting
- Lead commercial negotiations (price, Incoterms, Capex, credit days) . Conduct Zero-Based Costing (ZBC) during RFQ evaluations
- Understand and validate Machine Hour Rates (MHR) for key manufacturing processes
- Partner with suppliers to implement cost-reduction roadmaps post-SOP through productivity improvement, automation, or alternate process routes.
- Draft and sign Long-Term Agreements (LTAs), NDAs, and Development / Tooling contracts
Must-Have Skills
Expertise in sheet-metal/ casting / fastener commodity
Hands-on cost-modelling , ZBC , MHR calculation & VAVE
Advanced Excel & SAP understanding
Strong negotiation & stakeholder mgmt.
