Leads teams using large data sets to find opportunities for product and process optimization and models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action. Oversees strategy and policy around documentation of processes, models, applications, and procedures.Key Responsibilities & Duties (essential to the job)Leads discussions with key stakeholders to understand the underlying needs of the business and formulate, communicate and create buy-in for analytics approaches and solutions.Drives discussion around architecture for building large and complex information sets;

Integrates and extractsrelevant information from large amounts of both structured and unstructured data (internal and external) to enable analytical solutions.Conducts advanced analytics leveraging predictive modeling, machine learning, simulation, optimization and other techniques to deliver insights or develop analytical solutions to achieve business objectives.Leads Data Science team in discussion and policy. Helps communicate and formulate vision for Data Science team and execute on that plan.Deploys and maintains machine learning models/services using best practices to ensure performance and availability.Develops ad hoc analytics to support requests from OEC’s various lines of business.Empowers others to use the modeled data through Power BI through the creation of easy-to-use datasets.Establishes links across existing data sources and finds new, interesting data correlations.Data analysis:Proficient in independently analyzing data in SǪL Server, Azure databases. Capable of writing queries, slicing and dicing the data as required and identifying the underlying patterns.Responsible for identifying and reporting data insufficiencies. Effectively communicate with stakeholders to obtain the necessary data, ensuring no compromise on data sufficiency.Thorough understanding of data flow from source to target, including functional aspects of SSIS and Azure Data Factory is a plus.Model building:Brainstorm different methodologies to approach the business objective, shortlist multiple models, analyze the results and choose the best one for final implementation.Document all the analysis findings.Perform rigorous model validation and testing to ensure robustness and reliability.Communication:Periodically communicate the findings and progress to the stakeholders and obtain feedback.Iterate and improve models based on stakeholder feedback.Deployment:Possess strong ability to write deployment scripts and closely work with DevOps engineer in creating deployment pipelines to deploy the ML model to Dev, ǪA and Production environments.Cloud resource estimates:Provide accurate estimates of cloud resource requirements aligned with business objectives.A responsible tech steward who closely monitors cloud resource usage and take action to control costs.Tools and technologies expertise must have:Python, Azure Data Factory, SǪL, Azure ML, Git, Azure(Cloud), Built ML modelTools and technologies expertise good to have:SSIS, ADF, Data Flow, ML OPS, Cloud Resource EstimationLibraries and Frameworks: Pandas, NumPy, Pytorch, Hugging Face, Langchain, SKlearnTrends in industry:Tech enthusiast and an avid follower of latest trends in AI space and AI concepts such as GenAI, RAG, LLMs.Soft Skills:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.Excellent time management and organizational skills.Educational Ǫualifications:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.Relevant certifications in data science, machine learning, or cloud platforms (e.G., Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Scientist Associate) are a plus.Years of Experience:5+ yrs of work experience in Data SciencePerks and Benefits:Competitive salary and benefitsGroup Medical InsuranceICICI Bank Multi WalletCollaborative workspaceFlexible working hoursHybrid working modelWhat Makes Working at OEC Awesome?We have a new OEC Technology Centre of Excellence in Chennai, India Our team is beyond thrilled to work with the new office, but we’re even more excited for the innovation and creativity that this living space will certainly inspire We believe in surrounding ourselves with not only the best and the brightest individuals, but those that are unique and purpose-driven in all that they do.
