Infrastructure Lead

Rapyuta Robotics, an ETH Zurich startup headquartered in Tokyo, aspires to become the global leader in making robots more accessible. We currently lead the pick-assist AMR market in Japan and have secured investments from reputable backers, including Goldman Sachs, Sony, and Yaskawa.  As we establish a global hub in Chennai as an independent center to facilitate our global expansion, we're seeking an Infrastructure Lead. Your role will be crucial in owning infrastructure architecture, tooling, and operations across all environments while serving as the primary interface between infrastructure and platform teams. You will standardize processes across deployment sites and ensure reliability, security, and optimal performance of our distributed systems.  Responsibilities:  Own and maintain critical infrastructure tooling including deployment automation, configuration management, system imaging, monitoring integration, and secure access protocols  Design and implement infrastructure-as-code with Ansible and Terraform for staging, production, edge, and customer environments  Design secure network topologies including VPNs and firewall rules, and unify network setup across deployment sites with documented, repeatable processes  Own monitoring and observability solution hosting: configure Site24x7 and Grafana including dashboards, alerts, SLI/SLOs, and reduce MTTR with actionable runbooks  Act as primary interface to infrastructure teams; prioritize and adopt reusable components across different systems and platforms  Enforce ISO 27001-aligned controls including change management, least privilege, vulnerability remediation, patching cadence, and audit logs  Implement backup and disaster recovery, capacity planning, and cost and efficiency tuning across cloud and edge  Maintain robot and edge OS versions with systematic update and testing processes  Maintain and improve remote tool integration, manage access, approvals, and auditability across distributed systems  Requirements Minimum Qualifications:  At least 8 years in Infrastructure, Operations, or SRE roles on Linux with demonstrated ownership of critical systems  Hands-on with Ansible and Terraform including modules, testing, and CI integration for infrastructure automation  Practical experience with monitoring tools and Grafana including alerts, synthetic checks, and metrics/logs wiring  CI maintainer experience with GitHub Actions or GitLab CI covering secrets, runners, matrices, and artifacts  Strong Bash and one higher-level language such as Python for automation and tooling development  Networking fundamentals including DNS, TLS, proxies, VPNs, firewalls, and secure remote ops with SSH and bastions  Working knowledge of ISO 27001 controls and evidence collection for compliance frameworks  Strong communication skills in English  Preferred Qualifications:  Cloud operations on Azure and/or AWS GCP equivalents with multi-environment management  Containers Kubernetes and registry management for containerized workloads  Policy-as-code and secrets identity including Vault, SSO OIDC RBAC for security automation  Logging metrics stacks including ELK OpenSearch, Loki, Prometheus OpenTelemetry  Experience supporting robotics edge IoT deployments or similar deployment tooling  Strong ownership mentality with ability to take full responsibility for infrastructure components and their reliability  Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills for working as interface between teams  Documentation and knowledge transfer capabilities for standardizing processes across sites  Benefits Benefits and Perks:  Competitive Compensation: Receive a salary package commensurate with your expertise  Leading Technology Environment: Contribute to groundbreaking advancements in robotics technology within a cutting-edge work environment  Elite Engineering Team: Collaborate with a team of highly skilled engineers, fostering an atmosphere of innovation and creativity  Global Workplace Culture: Engage in a multinational work culture that values diversity, offering a range of perspectives  Comprehensive Insurance: Access comprehensive insurance coverage for you and your family, ensuring peace of mind  Flexible Work Hours: Enjoy a flexible work schedule that accommodates personal needs while promoting work-life balance
