Site reliability engineer

As we scale our next generation smart port product Turi, we are hiring our first dedicated SRE/Dev Ops Engineer to build, optimize, and own our reliability engineering function from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity to have a foundational impact on our infrastructure and engineering culture. Role Description We are seeking a mid-level Site Reliability Engineer / Dev Ops Engineer with strong experience in Azure, Kubernetes, microservices, automation, and security practices. You will design and manage Azure Kubernetes environments, build automated pipelines with Azure Dev Ops, support microservice deployments across Java, Python, and React applications, and help establish platform reliability practices. As the first SRE hire , you will work closely with engineering leadership to define standards, build frameworks, and shape operational excellence at Stoopa. AI. Key Responsibilities: ·      Design, implement, and manage Azure cloud infrastructure using Ia C tools (Terraform or ARM/Bicep). ·      Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure Dev Ops for Java, Python, and React applications. ·      Develop automation scripts and frameworks using Python , Bash, and YAML. ·      Optimize infrastructure for cost, security, and performance. ·      Deploy, administer, and scale Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters. ·      Manage microservices deployment patterns including rolling, blue/green, and canary releases. ·      Implement best practices around service mesh, ingress, autoscaling, and observability. ·      Maintain container build standards and optimize Docker images. ·      Set up monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, ELK, Data Dog or Azure equivalents. ·      Enable SLO/SLI tracking and error-budget management. ·      Conduct root cause analysis (RCAs), performance tuning, and post-incident reviews. ·      Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure production system reliability. ·      Implement Dev Sec Ops practices within CI/CD and infrastructure. ·      Manage secret storage, code scanning, image scanning, role-based access, and network security. ·      Ensure infrastructure and processes comply with SOC1, SOC2, and GDPR requirements. ·      Work with the engineering team to embed secure coding and deployment standards. ·      Collaborate with Java, Python, and React teams to ensure production deployability and system health. ·      Support Postgre SQL administration (preferably Azure Database for Postgre SQL) including: o Backup/restore automation o Performance tuning o Monitoring & scaling ·      Introduce reliability-focused engineering practices and tools across teams. ·      Help establish a strong SRE foundation for incident management, capacity planning, and automation. Document best practices, runbooks, and operational playbooks Qualifications ·      3–6 years of experience in Dev Ops/SRE roles. ·      Strong hands-on experience with Azure , especially AKS, networking, monitoring, and security services. ·      Expertise in Kubernetes , microservices, and container technologies. ·      Strong proficiency in Python for automation tooling. ·      Solid understanding of distributed systems and cloud-native design. ·      Experience supporting Java, Python, and React-based microservices. ·      Experience with Azure Dev Ops pipelines (CI/CD).  Postgre SQL administration experience. Expertise in Site Reliability Engineering and a strong understanding of maintaining system reliability and scaling infrastructure Familiarity with tools for automation, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring systems Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams and adapt to dynamic environments Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related technical discipline is preferred.
