SCOPE OF WORK:

The position is responsible for
end-to-end procurement of consumables, instruments, laboratory machines, and related capex/opex
items across the organization with direct accountability for high-value spends and strategic vendor partnerships. The role involves developing procurement strategies, driving commercial negotiations, contracting, and ensuring compliance to procurement policies.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO:


•
Strategic Sourcing & Procurement

  1. Develop and execute procurement strategies for consumables, reagents, chemicals instruments, laboratory machines, project and general materials.
  2. Independently manage high-value procurement spends and vendor base across categories.
  3. Ensure standardization, alternate sourcing, and long-term supply assurance.


•
Category Expertise

  1. Consumables & Reagents:
    Routine & super specialized test menu like- Biochemistry, Immunoassay, Hematology, Coagulation, Microbiology, Molecular, Genetics, Cytogenetics, Elisa kits, Rapid kits, Reagent controls, Histopathology & Molecular chemicals.
  2. Instruments & Machines:
    Laboratory analyzers, automation systems, diagnostic instruments, biomedical equipment, DG, UPS,AC.
  3. General Supplies:
    Plasticware, glassware, surgical consumables, collection tubes, packaging material, biomedical waste management supplies.


•
Vendor Management & Negotiation

  1. Build and maintain relationships with global and domestic OEMs and suppliers.
  2. Lead negotiations, contracting, and supplier performance management.
  3. Drive cost efficiency while ensuring quality and compliance.

Commercial & Compliance Oversight

  1. Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations, licensing requirements, Taxation and quality standards.
  2. Manage vendor audits, procurement contracts, and compliance with internal SOPs.
  3. Monitor procurement budgets, conduct costing and spend analysis.

Team Leadership & Process Excellence

  1. Lead and mentor team.
  2. Drive automation, ERP-enabled procurement processes, and reporting for transparency.
  3. Ensure timely availability of consumables and equipment to avoid operational disruptions.
  4. Focus on usage of technological tools like e–auction/ reverse auction/ Catalogue/Small buy etc to improve efficiency, bring down costs and improve transparency

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING IN YOU:


•
Experience:
12–15 years of experience in procurement (Healthcare/Diagnostics/Medical Devices/Pharma/FMCG).


•
Education:
Graduate/Postgraduate in Science, Engineering, Pharma or Supply Chain (B.Tech/BE Chemical, Biomedical, or related field preferred).


•Proven track record in managing procurement of consumables, instruments, and capex equipment.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:


•Strong knowledge of consumables, instruments, and medical equipment categories.


•Excellent commercial acumen – costing, pricing, taxation.


•Advanced negotiation and contracting skills (legal, commercial, and compliance terms).


•Strategic and analytical thinking with decision-making ability.


•Strong leadership, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.


•Ownership, accountability, and ability to drive business excellence.
