Model Based Design Engineer

Job Description Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Model-Based Design Engineer with strong expertise in CATIA V5 and engineering fundamentals. The candidate should possess solid experience in Model-Based Definition (MBD) practices and proficiency in design and drafting modules, preferably within aerospace or related mechanical design domains. Key Skills Model-Based Design (MBD), Catia V5, Part Design, Assembly Design, Drafting, Sheet Metal Design, 3D Functional Tolerancing and Annotation (FTA), Engineering Drawing Reading, Aircraft Landing Gear Systems Roles and Responsibilities Develop and maintain Model-Based Design (MBD) data and documentation using CATIA V5. Create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings in line with engineering requirements. Implement 3D Functional Tolerancing and Annotation (FTA) within CAD models. Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and testing teams to deliver high-quality design outputs. Ensure all designs comply with organizational and industry standards. Review and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications accurately. Support continuous improvement of modeling methods and documentation processes. Requirements 5–8 years of experience in mechanical or aerospace design, with at least 2–3 years in Model-Based Design. Proficiency in CATIA V5 modules: Part Design, Assembly Design, Drafting, and Sheet Metal. Strong understanding of 3D Functional Tolerancing and Annotation (FTA). Solid knowledge of engineering fundamentals and design principles. Experience or exposure to Aircraft Landing Gear Systems preferred. Ability to interpret engineering drawings with high accuracy. Strong technical documentation and collaboration skills.
