The company, wholly owned by J. B. Poindexter & Co., Inc is headquartered in Houston, Texas, USA.Duties:As a Design Engineer Level I, You will be responsible for creating 3D models, 3D assemblies and detailed drawings of the Automotive Trims and interiors such as Trims, Roof Liners, and Door Panel components. You shall also work on the Class A surfacing, creating the part by thickening and adding the attaching features. He shall also be able to design Sheet Metal parts using SolidWorks CAD software. Apply GD & T and Tolerance stack-up methods to parts and assemblies.Responsibilities:3D modeling and 2D drafting using SolidWorks CAD tool.Good knowledge of Sheet metal Design and plastics not limited to ABS / PP / PE.Design Automotive Interiors such as trims, door panels, and Headliner parts using SolidWorks CAD.Experience in the design and integration of Automotive seating.Ability to work on Class A surfacing and creating the details by thickening using the SolidWorks CAD tool.Ability to select the Plastic material based on the application.Knowledge of vacuum-forming parts per the vacuum-forming standards and process.Experience working on the attaching features for the plastic parts such as Mounting Boss, Snap Fits, and other fastening features.Knowledge of the DFM (Design for Manufacturing) for designing parts and assemblies.Experience Check-In and Check-Out of models in the PDM live environment.Experience working on the Electrical line diagrams using Draft sight CAD.Good project management and team management to deliver tasks on time.Create work instructions and technical documentation.Communication with an onsite engineer or client with PPT and other documents to resolve issues related to tasks.QualificationsDesign Engineer with 4 - 8 years of experience.Good knowledge of automotive interior design and trims.Preferred to have Class A surfacing experience.Required knowledge of ABS / PP / PE plastics and applications.Good sheet metal design knowledge and process is required.Electrical harness 2D drawings experience is preferred.DFM, DFS experience is preferred.EV vehicle experience is given priority.Work experience in the slow phase of design and development is preferred.Strong knowledge of GD & T and application is required.Tolerance stack-up experience is a plus.SolidWorks PDM knowledge is essential.Ability to travel onsite anywhere between 2 weeks to 4 weeks is preferred.Excellent communication skills, and ability to work with various Engineering teams off-site.English Proficiency: Excellent written and oral Communication is required.Code of Ethics:JB Poindexter (India) Private Limited , requires the highest standard of ethics in all business dealings, with customers, suppliers, advisors, employees, and authorities.
