Job description: Python Engineer

Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced
Python Engineer
with strong expertise in algorithms, data structures, and systems-level problem solving. The role involves designing algorithmically rich coding problems, evaluation systems, and benchmarks that test reasoning, correctness, and performance. You will be responsible for building robust code, defining precise technical specifications, and developing comprehensive test suites. This position is ideal for creative engineers who excel at designing challenging problems while maintaining high standards of engineering quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design algorithmically rich coding problems and evaluation systems that assess reasoning, planning, correctness, and performance.
  • Develop high-quality Python solutions and test suites ensuring robustness, correctness, and full edge-case coverage.
  • Write clear and unambiguous technical specifications and problem statements.
  • Ensure domain coverage across data structures, graph algorithms, number theory, performance engineering, and mathematical logic.
  • Create benchmarks and structured metadata (taxonomy, difficulty, domain relevance, reliability).
  • Collaborate in peer reviews and QA processes to maintain rigorous engineering standards.
  • Deliver maintainable, modular, and scalable solutions for production or downstream application use.

Requirement:

  • 1 to 3+ years
    of professional experience in software engineering, algorithm design, or systems programming.
  • 1 to 3+ years of hands-on Python experience
    with proven ability to write concise, efficient, and technically challenging code.
  • Strong grasp of
    algorithmic complexity, optimization, and computational constraints
    .
  • Proven experience in
    test automation, benchmarking, or large-scale evaluation systems
    .
  • Familiarity with structured data formats (JSON, YAML) and version-controlled codebases (e.g., Git).
  • Expertise in at least
    four
    of the following areas:
  • Data Structures & Algorithms
  • Graph Theory & Algorithms
  • Number Theory & Mathematical Logic
  • Performance Engineering & Optimization
  • Constraint-based Design
  • Systems Design & Evaluation Frameworks

Preferred Skills

  • Strong problem-creation mindset for algorithmic challenges.
  • Experience with
    benchmark creation
    and designing evaluation metrics.
  • Ability to balance
    creativity and engineering precision
    in problem design.
  • Excellent collaboration, documentation, and communication skills.
