About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise in modern .NET Core and legacy ASP.NET WebForms to join our Life Sciences Technology Services team. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining critical software solutions for our clients in the life sciences sector. The ideal candidate is a seasoned developer who is not only proficient in current technologies but also possesses the rare skillset to support and modernize essential WebForms applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy robust software solutions using .NET Core, C#, Web API, and ASP.NET MVC.
  • Provide essential support, maintenance, and feature development for existing legacy ASP.NET WebForms applications.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, business analysts, and other developers to translate business requirements into technical specifications and scalable software.
  • Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code following best practices.
  • Conduct and participate in code reviews to ensure quality and knowledge sharing across the team.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including technical design specs and test plans.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, estimations, retrospectives) and contribute to the entire software development lifecycle.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and trends relevant to the life sciences and pharmaceutical industries.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in software development with the .NET framework.
  • Expert-level proficiency in C#, ASP.NET, and .NET Core/.NET 5+.
  • Extensive, hands-on experience (5+ years) maintaining and developing ASP.NET WebForms applications is mandatory.
  • Strong experience with modern front-end technologies including JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, CSS3, and Bootstrap.
  • Proven experience with RESTful API development (Web API).
  • Solid understanding of relational databases and proficiency in writing SQL for Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience with version control systems, preferably SVN or Git.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
