Key Responsibilities
- Buyer & Brand Coordination
· Act as the primary point of contact with brand teams for all order-related communication.
· Manage SO (Sales Order) creation, approvals, and updates.
· Ensure smooth alignment between brand requirements and internal teams.
· Manage approvals, and pre-production activities to meet deadlines
· Follow order confirmation process and internal alignment on same.
- Material Planning
· Coordinate with purchase teams for timely material sourcing and inward planning.
· Oversee sole production and inward flow with internal partners (e.g., Soltec, Fabsol) and external suppliers.
· Material inward plan alignment with monthly financial plan
- Production Planning & Tracking
· Prepare and relay production plans for the next 120 days (reviewed every 15 days).
· Level loading of seasonal orders according to mold/ machine & process capacity.
· Work with the Production Planning team to align monthly line planning as per merchandising requirements.
· Monitor daily production progress, resolve bottlenecks, and ensure on-time delivery.
- Reporting & Analysis
· Provide daily/weekly production reports, variance analysis, and corrective action plans.
· Share updates on order status, delays, and solutions with management and buyers.
· Track production KPIs and capacity utilization for continuous improvement.
· PO management and completion data making and analysis.
· Day to day issue resolution for smooth functioning of organization
- Capacity & Team Management
· Manage production capacity and optimize line allocation for multiple orders.
· Coordinate cross-functionally with purchase, production, QA, and logistics teams.
· Mentor junior merchandisers/coordinators for smooth execution of tasks.
Key Skills & Competencies
· Strong knowledge of footwear manufacturing processes (cutting, stitching, lasting, finishing).
· Expertise in sampling, costing, and production tracking.
· Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP/PLM systems, and reporting tools.
· Excellent communication & negotiation skills for buyer and supplier interaction.
· Analytical mindset for production planning, capacity management, and issue resolution.
· Knowledge of quality standards, compliance audits, and export documentation.
Qualification & Experience
· Graduate/Postgraduate in Footwear Technology, Fashion Merchandising, or related field.
· 7–10 years' experience in merchandising, preferably in the footwear/leather manufacturing industry (OEM/ODM setup).
· Proven track record of handling buyer communication, order execution, and production planning.
