What you become a part of:


As the Head of Infrastructure and Cybersecurity, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and management of the organization’s technological infrastructure and cybersecurity framework. You will ensure that our IT systems are reliable, secure, and efficient, supporting the company’s strategic goals. You will lead a team of talented professionals and collaborate with various departments to implement and maintain robust systems that support our operations and protect our sensitive data.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Infrastructure Management:
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage, and cloud services.
  • Develop and execute strategies to optimize infrastructure performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity for critical systems and services.
  • Define and manage ITSM based SOPs and policies for effective management of End User Support and IT Infrastructure support to the business.


  • Cybersecurity Leadership:
  • Develop and implement cybersecurity policies, procedures, and controls to protect against internal and external threats.
  • Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability testing, and risk analysis to identify and mitigate potential security risks.
  • Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies to continuously enhance the organization's security posture.


  • Team Management:
  • Lead and mentor a team of infrastructure professionals, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Coordinate with other departments and external partners/vendors to ensure alignment and effective execution of infrastructure and cybersecurity initiatives.


  • Compliance and Governance:
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices related to infrastructure and cybersecurity.
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address data privacy, security incidents, and regulatory inquiries as needed.
  • Maintain documentation, audit trails, and reporting mechanisms to demonstrate compliance and governance.


  • Vendor Management:
  • Collaborate with external vendors and consultants to optimize the performance and functionality of enterprise applications.
  • Negotiate and manage vendor contracts and service level agreements.


  • Budget Management:
  • Develop and manage the IT budget for infrastructure and cybersecurity, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
  • Optimize resource allocation and staffing to support project demands and operational needs.


Essential skills, experience and qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in IT infrastructure and cybersecurity, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably within the Pharmaceutical and FMCG/CPG industry.
  • Strong knowledge of data networking, Azure cloud computing, virtualization, and storage technologies.
  • Expertise in cybersecurity principles, risk management, threat detection, and incident response.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as GDPR, 21CFR Part 11, GxP, CSV, and industry standards like NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Experience working cross-culturally with diverse colleagues across multiple countries.
  • Should be flexible to work in Africa time zones.
