Job Description: Drive strategic direction and prioritization for a suite of products under the FLAG umbrella for Datacenter's, Subsea & IP to deliver optimal customer experiences. The products specifically will be Datacentres, Cable Landing Stations, Ethernet, IRUs, IP Transit & Internet includes global coverage and driving innovation of the products mentioned.
As the Senior Product Manager for the FLAG portfolio, you will lead product development across cross-functional teams and play a key role in achieving the strategy and objectives for FLAG’s Datacentre, Subsea & IP portfolio. for FLAG’s Datacentre, Subsea & IP portfolio mission is to deliver flexible and commercially viable products, features & functionalities providing customers with a radically simplified experience in adopting such products with globally evolving network & datacentre requirements.
The ideal candidate will be a thought leader with a genuine passion and appreciation of technologies for the products mentioned above. Demonstrable experience in product innovation, vision setting, strategy execution and product management is also necessary.
Job Responsibilities :
Providing thought leadership and contributing very deep product, technology and market expertise to the team to enable it to develop the mission, lifecycle strategy and roadmap for FLAG’s Datacentre, Subsea & IP portfolios.
Collaborating across other business units and the value chain to achieve the mission and create a superior end-to-end customer experience across the product lifecycle that drives growth and profitability
Contributing deep and broad commercial acumen and product economics skills to enable the team to continuously improve product performance, including identifying and addressing market trends, commercial matters competitive threats and regulatory issues.
Owning key vendor relationships from a joint roadmap and go to market perspective, ensuring that leverage of partners is aligned to growth and profitability targets
Defining product vision, strategy and roadmap by clearly articulating business value and prioritizing what matters the most to achieve the strategic goals for the portfolio
To be successful in this role, you need to have the following:
Strong leadership experience in applying deep domain expertise, commercial acumen and strong communication skills to address challenges and ensure a superior end-to-end customer experience
Technical understanding and strong appreciation of technologies including Datacentres, Subsea & IP.
Strong Product and commercial management experience with proven experience leading large cross functional or software development teams
Experience in end-to-end product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, delivering to profitability objectives for GCX.
Strong experience and negotiation skills building relationships with partners and vendor working groups
Advanced communication and collaboration skills to build relationships and work through challenges with senior stakeholders across GCX business units and delivery groups
Knowledge of the Carrier & Wholesale market – customers, drivers, market, competitors
Qualification / Experience Required :
Graduate Degree – in Computer Science, Business, Engineering or equivalent
12 – 15+ years working experience in IT, telecommunications or equivalent
Experience in technologies such as Datacentres, Subsea & IP
Strong Product and commercial management experience
Proven experience leading cross functional teams
MBA or equivalent (highly desirable)
Skills Required :
Product strategy and execution; ability to set high level roadmap and implement
Proven experience leading large cross functional teams
Strong commercial acumen; strive for profitable outcomes
Business case and feasibility analysis; ability to calculate ROI, define business and technology capabilities and objectives, develop go-to-market strategies
Strong Technical understanding of technologies including
Strong analytical skills ability to calculate and articulate ROI of products
Excellent communication, presentation and problem-solving skills
