Reports To: Café Manager



Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Senior Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality coffee, cold beverages, and shakes while ensuring an exceptional customer experience. They will also operate and maintain coffee equipment, including espresso machines, and contribute to creating a welcoming environment for customers.



Key Responsibilities

Beverage Preparation

  • Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including espresso-based drinks (e.g., lattes, cappuccinos), cold brews, smoothies, and specialty shakes.
  • Maintain consistency in beverage quality and presentation following company recipes and standards.
  • Suggest menu items to customers and customize drinks based on preferences.

Equipment Operation and Maintenance

  • Operate espresso machines, grinders, blenders, and other equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Regularly clean and maintain coffee and beverage equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Customer Service

  • Greet customers warmly and create a positive, engaging atmosphere.
  • Take customer orders accurately and handle special requests.
  • Provide product knowledge, including the origin and preparation of coffee blends and specialty drinks.

Inventory and Stock Management

  • Monitor inventory levels for coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other ingredients.
  • Restock and organize supplies as needed to ensure smooth operations.
  • Inform the manager of any stock shortages or equipment malfunctions.

Health and Safety Compliance

  • Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the workspace, including counters, equipment, and seating areas.

Team Collaboration

  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service during peak hours.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to improve skills and product knowledge.



Key Skills and Qualifications

Technical Skills

  • Proven experience as a Senior barista or similar role in a café or restaurant.
  • Hands-on experience with coffee-making equipment, including espresso machines.
  • Knowledge of coffee bean varieties, brewing methods, and beverage customization.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • Certification in food safety or Senior barista training (advantageous).
  • Basic math skills for handling transactions and measurements.
