We are looking for a Head – GST & Indirect Tax to lead our indirect tax practice. The role involves managing GST advisory and compliance, handling litigation, leading a team of 15–20 professionals, and independently engaging with clients and firm partners. This is an on-site position. Location - Shivajinagar, Pune1. GST Advisory & Compliance- Lead and review GST advisory assignments across sectors.- Oversee end-to-end GST compliance, including registrations, returns, reconciliations, and annual returns.- Review tax positions on complex transactions, input tax credit issues, cross-charges, and place of supply.- Ensure timely updates and implementation of changes in GST law, rules, and notifications.2. Litigation & Representation- Handle GST assessments, audits, investigations, and departmental queries.- Draft and review replies to notices, audit objections, and show cause notices.- Prepare and review written submissions, appeals, and petitions before departmental authorities and appellate forums.- Coordinate with counsels, where required, and support in strategy for key litigation matters.3. Team Leadership & Management- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 15–20 GST professionals and executives.- Allocate work, monitor deliverables, and ensure quality and timely completion.- Provide technical guidance, conduct internal trainings, and support team members’ professional development.- Drive standardisation of processes, checklists, and internal controls within the GST team.4. Client & Stakeholder Management- Act as the primary point of contact for key GST clients.- Independently handle client meetings, reviews, and presentations.- Understand client businesses and proactively identify opportunities for value-added services.- Work closely with Partners and other service lines to deliver integrated solutions.5. Practice Development & Knowledge Management- Assist in developing GST-related service offerings, proposals, and pitches.- Contribute to thought leadership: articles, client alerts, webinars, and internal knowledge notes.- Track industry trends, judicial pronouncements, and policy developments in GST and indirect tax.Qualifications & Experience- CA with 6–7+ years of strong GST/indirect tax experience in a reputed / large CA firm.- Hands-on experience in GST litigation, advisory, and compliance.- Proven ability to lead and manage teams of 15–20 resources.- Strong drafting skills for notices, replies, and appeals.- Excellent communication and client-handling skills; confident in independently interacting with senior client stakeholders and firm partners.- Strong analytical mindset, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.- High level of ownership, integrity, and professional ethics.Compensation & Benefits- Salary: As per industry standardsWhy Join Us?- Collaborative and dynamic team environment.- Competitive salary and room to be promoted as the practice scales.Application Process: Submit your resume and cover letter to Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
